The Neon Room at Helium: Steve Simeone

Steve Simeone grew up in Suburban Philadelphia, the middle of three brothers. He developed his unique high energy style of storytelling around the family dinner table competing for laughs on a nightly basis. Whether in the classroom or at home, Steve always seemed happiest making people laugh, even if it meant he sometimes got into trouble.

After graduating from Loyola College in Maryland as a member of the National Marketing Honor Society, Steve accepted a job in banking. This was not a good fit and didn’t last long. His brief stint of being a real grown up, gave way to a dream job with the Philadelphia Eagles. Now this was way more fun than banking. But those who are destined for the stage, are destined for the stage. After a few Open Mics, came the title of “Funniest Comic in Philly”. Some things are simply meant to be. Celebrity judge Pauly Shore invited Steve to Hollywood and The World Famous Comedy Store. He was now making $25 a night working the door. Steve always seemed happiest making people laugh, even if it meant he sometimes starved.

Steve has spent the last ten years slowly honing the craft of Stand Up Comedy. He is a regular performer at Hollywood’s most prestigious Comedy Clubs, The Comedy Store, The Improv, and The Laugh Factory. When he’s not headlining clubs on his own he can be seen on the road with The Playboy Comedy Tour, Pauly Shore, and Andrew Dice Clay. A proud member of “Comics On Duty”, Steve has entertained our troops around the globe on four continents. And yes, Steve has been on television (NBC’s “Spy TV”, on Current TV’s “The Schmoes Know” and TBS’s “Minding The Store”) but as they say, the best is yet to come. Steve always seemed happiest making people laugh, even if it meant he got to tour with his childhood hero “Rowdy” Roddy Piper. Be on the lookout for Steve and this professional wrestling Icon at a Comedy Club near you.
